For Fun 🙂

Grace’s Questions:

  1. When did you start writing, and why?

I started writing at about 6. That was when I really got the concept of writing stories. I started writing because I loved (still do) to read, so writing was just the next logical step, right? 🙂

  1. Who inspires you to write?

My family, my English teacher, and other writers! Also, meeting people on NaNoWriMo Forums and reading on WattPad. It pushes me to want to write more because I am a horrible procrastinator.

  1. What’s the worst thing about writing?

Writing the middle of a story! SO SO SO many stories of mine have failed because I couldn’t think of a middle to them. I think I have a good middle for my current WIP, though.

  1. What’s the best?

Finishing something you started, and receiving feedback! That’s why I really like WattPad, I can get feedback and I don’t have to wait to get it published. NaNo is good for feedback, too. I like finishing something I started because it makes me feel a sense of accomplishment and pride.

  1. Why do you write?

Because when I read, I get sucked into a whole ‘nother dimension, a different world. I forget I’m reading words on a page and feel as if I’m there. I want to create that world, that atmosphere where people feel as if they know my characters.

  1. Are you a planner or a pantser?

A little of both, I suppose. I come up with random ideas, but I don’t have a middle, so they fizzle out. Now, I am trying to think of a vague idea for a middle, or I put it away  ’til I can. Then I am a pantser.

  1. Where do your ideas come from?

I’m not sure. I guess the cluttered jumble that’s in my brain. {I really need to clean it out sometime 😉 }

  1. What are your favorite genres to write in?

Poetry, Fiction, & Fantasy. I would like to try SciFi & Historical Fic

  1. What advice can you give for new writers?

Write down what you see! If you think something could help you later, take a picture or write it down! You’d be surprised where you can find inspiration.

  1. Where do you hope to see yourself (writing wise) in 20 years?

I hope to have a  well- read & liked book published, maybe a publishing deal. I hope to be a Writer & a Lawyer. Or a Lawyer & a Writer. I would like to have a degree in English and a publishing contract. (Crazy dreams, I know.)

My Questions:

  1. Have you ever been published? (Magazine, e-zine, Amazon, etc.)
  2. Is publishing a goal for you? If so, when do you hope to be published?
  3. Where is favorite place to write? (if applicable)
  4. How do you write? (Computer, type-writer, by hand, etc.)
  5. Who is your favorite author?
  6. What is the usual length of your work? (Novel, novella, poem, etc.)
  7. Do you illustrate your work?
  8. Are you a series writer or stand-alone-novels?
  9. Flowery, describe-everything-in-detail writing or straight to the point?
  10. Does writing with music distract you or help you?

Writing Update:

I am so so sorry, but you;ll have to wait til tomorrow for a camp nano update. Good news: I think I will reach 1000 words for Lost Worlds tonight! No excerpt worthy pieces yet, but I will be sure to post one when I do! I wrote 3 more poems for For(Gotten) You. I will post those soon. Ba-Bump & A Deathly Circus are on hold right now, too many other things going on. But sometime before the end of the summer I plan to go through my old notebooks and see if I have any ideas worth writing about (or meshing into my current story) so you’ll get an update on that later. How are you doing on your camp nano novels? What is your word count? Comment below!

lots of ❤
