2016 In Review, 2017 Resolutions

Hello all! So, as you know from my post yesterday, April Dreams has been around for 6 years. Here are my end of 2016 stats-

67 (68 posts)

3,740 views (can I make it to 3,750 by the end of the year? :))

893 visitors

164 followers (OMG guys, this blew my goal of 150 out of the water)

675 comments (Wow, thank you all so much!)

As you can see, I’m over the moon with these stats. Now, enough with that boring stuff. Let’s get to the year in review.

Blogging

I published, well, you can see above how many posts I published. Your favorites were:

My favorites were:

Merry Christmas To All, And To All A Good Night

10 Lil’ Bits of Winter Cheer

My Future Dream Writing Office & Some Very Important UpdatesW

Music

I got into some very good clarinet ensembles!

I’ve reached new heights in my clarinet playing

I’ve started to dig deep and put feeling into my music

I found some of my favorite music ever ❤

I even tried to write a song but that failed lol

School

All A’s except for gym on my first graded report card

I’ve barely forgotten my homework

In my opinion, the teachers don’t hate me so that’s a plus!

Writing

I accomplished the most writing of my life

I came up with a new story idea

I finished (well, I’m about to post the last one) my poem book.

I came up with my new, over a year, poem book

I’ve accomplished much editing

Blogging

  • Reach 300 followers
    • I think this is reasonable, seeing as we got 150 in 6 months
  • Publish at least 2 posts a week
    • is this enough for you? that means 2-3 days between posts, i think that’s pretty good
  • Get my blog redesigned
    •  As I start to become more serious about blogging, I would love for my blog to be easier to navigate and more visually appealing
  • Comment more
    • Comment on others posts and longer replies on mine. I’m excited for this one because I know a comment can really brighten a blogger’s day!
  • Customized Featured Images on every post
    • I’ve been getting better with this… except for this very post *hides in shame*
  • Start categorizing my posts
    • And along with this, post archives
  • Follow a schedule
    • Oh goodness, this one is gonna kill me
  • Update my top level  menu
    • I promise
  • Set up new social media accounts
    • For sharing my posts on other mediums

Writing

  • Write a poem everyday
    • These poems will be for my new Wattpad book, 365 Ways to Kill Yourself
  • Try plantsing
    • plotting and pantsing
  • Flesh out my new novel idea
    • It’s about the 7 Deadly Sins, and that brings me to my next goal…
  • Update my story pages
  • Participate in NaNo 2017
  • Finish the first draft of Behind Locker Doors

Music

  • Participate in Solo Fest
  • Participate in a junior wind ensemble again
  • Get a solo on band
    • They’re not given out often, so this is pretty out there *crosses fingers*
  • Finally get accepted into All-State
    • My score was just one point off. One point!! *growls*

School

  • Get all A’s on my report card
  • Make new friends
  • Be on time
    • Yeah, this is a real problem for me…
  • Become banner bearer

So, that concludes this post! What do you all think of my goals? Have you done a New Year’s Post? leave the link below!

xoxo,

      1. I’ve been great! Thanks so much for asking. I was browsing through your posts, and you mentioned that you got a bullet journal, how’s that going!? I just started my bujo, just a few pages in and it’s going great so far. Watching YouTube videos on bujos is addicting 😊😊😊

          1. I follow quite a lot of Studyblrs on tumblr…. and on youtube I watch tbhstudying and studyign for bujo and other school/productivity videos. The orignial bujo website is awesome too! I’m just following tbhstudying’s weekly and monthly layouts. I’ve got a 2016 rewind page with stuff that happened in the world and in my life. New Year resolutions, a monthly tracker, and a “productivity page”… and you? Ahhhh im just getting pumped up talking about this stuff :))))

              1. I’ve got productivity tips from online and stuff . The monthly tracker is great for forcing urself to be productive too! Do you bring Ur bujo to school? It would be more convenient for me but I don’t really want people reading my stuff all the time.
