As you all know, February is Black History Month.

I woke up today, and I started thinking- I’ve done nothing.

Black History is an important part of my life, and I’ve neglected to mention it on my blog.

Thata HAS to change.

So today, I’ll be shining some light on 5 ethnic artists I love.

1. Beyoncé Knowles

I love everything about Beyoncé. She is nice, and a great person in general. She’s really inspiring, and I think we could all learn from her.

Who wants to take me to her concert?

2. Louis Armstrong

A blast from the past… one could argue he was one of the greatest trumpeters of all time.

3. Micheal Jordan

What. A. Legend. See that dunk? LEGENDARY. His shoes? LEGENDARY. The man? LEGENDARY.

(But honestly, if someone bought me a pair of Jordans I would love them forever.)

4. Kevin Hart

He is so funny- his videos have made me laugh 10 minutes after their over. When I’m down, I can go watch one. What a GREAT comedian!

5. Alicia Keys

  4. Ah, these guys are all so great! Especially Louis Armstrong. Sounds weird, but I love this voice … and his trumpet-playing, of course. And you know, he’s also a pretty good actor. 🙂

    I actually had no idea this was black history month. That’s … interesting. Seems like they have a month for everything nowadays. 😉

      1. Well … this is such an awful thing to say, but to me it seems … a little silly to call attention to African-American (or other people who are called black) people like this. I mean, don’t get me wrong. I think they’re great people capable of amazing things … but I don’t think they’re any different from anyone else. I think we’re all the same. The only difference is the color of their skin. It just … seems to me that by having this holiday or month or whatever, it just calls attention to their being “different” (though they’re not really) than other people … and that’s not good. It seems like it could lead to more discrimination.
        Sorry if I offended you … I really didn’t mean to! That’s totally just my opinion and it’s offensive and I get it. Please don’t be angry!

        1. It’s totally ok! Opinions are fine, I seldom get mad at them. Unless they’re just blatantly, in-your-face, ignorant, while pretending like they know it all. basically arrogant opinions (if thats the owrd) ((see that was pretty bad too))
          i guess this is just a difference of opinion of what it’s about. For me, BHM is supposed to bring to attention the struggles that Black people have faced in the past, and how they’ve been overcome. Not that their different, but their struggles are. If that makes sense?

                  1. No, of course not! I’m actually rarely offended. 😛 Seriously, though, it doesn’t really offend me when people have different opinions than me … it just offends me when they shove them in my face and insist that I accept them no matter what. 🙂

                    6. Yeah, well, I do, too. I think there’s a delicate balance to be had … you need to be truthful about your opinions and beliefs, but you don’t want to be that person who pours their opinions and beliefs down everyone else’s throats … but I think you’re pretty good at it.
