Tuesday’s Tunes: Valentine’s Day (2/14/17)

It’s that special day of the year…

Where all the lovebirds go on dates, the couples buy candy, and the fiancés go out to fancy dinners…

But for all you romantics reading my blog, here are a few songs to play for your special someone.

🙂 ❤

let’s get on to the love love love!

  • Crazy In Love, Beyoncé

The 2003 classic.

Favorite Lyrics:

Such a funny thing for me to try to explain // How I’m feeling and my pride is the one to blame // ‘Cause I know I don’t understand // Just how your love can do what no one else can

Well, I absolutely LOVE Beyoncé. A peppy, fun, song to play with your special someone. And Beyoncé! Who doesn’t want to listen to Queen B on V-Day?

  • Scars To Your Beautiful, Alessia Cara

The hit on the radio station.

Favorite Lyrics:

But there’s a hope that’s waiting for you in the dark // You should know you’re beautiful just the way you are // And you don’t have to change a thing, the world could change its heart // No scars to your beautiful, we’re stars and we’re beautiful

This is such a beautiful song. It really helps people everywhere restore their self-confidence. A beautiful thing for Valentine’s Day. ❤

  • All Of Me, John Legend

A smooth feel good jam.

A beautiful song, silky velvet rosy sweet. AUGH JUST WRAP ME UP IN A BLANKET OF IT.

Favorite Lyrics:

My head’s under water // But I’m breathing fine // You’re crazy and I’m out of my mind

  • Sweetest Devotion, Adele

A song from the Grammy-winning album.

OK, I’m sorry, but I am hijacking this post to say- did you see the Grammy’s last night? And Adele’s speech at the end- Beyoncé was moved to tears. Wow, it was so so beautiful.

Favorite Lyrics:

Hitting me like an explosion // All of my life, I’ve been frozen // The sweetest devotion I’ve known

  • A Thousand Years, Christina Perri

Don’t judge a song by the album cover… even though i do. all the time.

It’s so cheesy and it’s from twilight but honestly I still love it. I guess I’m just cheese. Cheese is good, especially the shredded kind… and I’m rambling.

Favorite Lyrics:

I have died everyday, waiting for you // Darling, don’t be afraid, I have loved you for a thousand years // I’ll love you for a thousand more

Have you ever listened to Halsey? Who is your music obsession? Do you have one? Favorite genre?

April xx

PS- oh, and my comment at the beginning of the post? just me being cynical. i love Valentine’s Day because CANDYYY

  1. Ah, yes! I’ve heard all of those songs except for Adele’s–I must go listen to it now! All of Me and A Thousand Years make me want to dance; not like hip hop, more like lyrical, with flowing and graceful movements. They’re just so beautiful! Thank you for reminding us about the love that is still present today! 🙂
